Notes of group discussion on cross project integration/learning in Innovation platforms theme: Notes of the other groups could be obtained from the slides?
Chaired: Alan
Minutes: Aberra
• Nile projects should integrate but shouldn’t use the IP forum to push their agenda to the community, rather involve community for changes – need to balance voices of community and researchers/extension workers
• Local level IPs are good to bring together various disciplines
• Benefits of integrate: approach as one team rather than separate projects, reduces resource requirement, cross learning, avoid duplication of efforts and activities
• Challenges of integration: Domination of research over other stakeholders, Tech push syndrome might repeat itself, differences in interest and who leads the research?
